Mr. Francis Ng Yong Kiat (President)

Francis Ng is a Deputy Public Prosecutor of the Attorney-General's Chambers of Singapore. He began kayaking in 1993 with the canoeing team of Hwa Chong Junior College. He has participated in almost every local race since 1995 and, before setting up Lightning, has paddled for Kallang Sea Sports Club, SAFRA Canoeing Team and the National University of Singapore Canoeing Team at one time or another. Francis was also one of the coaches of the Hwa Chong Junior College Canoeing Team in 1996, when he coached the college team to become 'Double Champs' for the first time ever, winning both the 'A' Division Boys' and Girls' titles. Francis is presently a member of the National Canoeing Team, under the auspices of the Singapore Canoe Federation, and has represented Singapore in the 1st and 2nd Tasik Kenyir Regattas (2000 & 2001) as well as the 3rd South East Asian Canoe Championships (2001).

Mr. Goh How Hiap Francis (Vice-President)

Francis Goh is an artillery officer with the Singapore Armed Forces and he is a humble man with a burning passion for kayaking. His kayaking experience started during his days in Hwa Chong Junior College. Beside local races, he has represented Singapore at the Asian Canoeing Championship and SEACC in 1999. During his university days, he was also the coach of the girls from Hwa Chong Junior College Canoeing Team, bringing them to their championship titles at the SSSC National Inter-school Canoeing Championships. Currently he provides guidance to them at their trainings.



Ms. Lim Ling Min (Secretary)

Ling Min is a Arts & Social Sciences graduate from National University of Singapore and she is currently a contract teacher. Her participation in the canoeing CCA started her interest in kayaking and she has been kayaking since then. She has taken part in National Inter-school Canoeing Championship 1997, 1998. Since her JC school days, she continued her interest as an active member Canoeing Team and Canoe Polo Team in the NUS. Her experiences in races include SEACC 1999, Lake Kenyir Regatta 2000,2001 National Canoeing Champships 1998, 2000,2001, SDBA Invitational Canoeing Championships 1997,1998, 2000, 2001.



Mr. Lee Kai Yang (Treasurer)

Kai Yang is currently a final year undergraduate pursuing his course in accountancy at the Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Kai Yang has started kayaking since 1997 and started his passion in kayaking while he was at Hwa Chong Junior College. The various competition he has taken part includes National Inter-school Canoeing Championship 1997, the 1st SEACC 1999, Lake Kenyir Regatta in Malaysia, Singapore Dragon Boat Association (SDBA) Invitational Canoeing Championships and the National Canoe Championships. Kaiyang is currently coaching the 'C'-Division canoeing boys of The Chinese High School.



Ms. Tan Bee Teng (Assistant Secretary)

Bee Teng is currently a 4th year undergraduate at the National University of Singapore, pursuing her course in Civil Engineering. She has been kayaking since 1997, representing Hwa Chong Junior College during her school days. She has taken part in various competitions since she has started. Competitions taken part by her include SEACC 1999, Lake Kenyir Regatta, National Inter-school Canoeing Championship 1997, 1998, National Canoeing Champships 1998, National Canoeing Championship 2000, 2001, SDBA Invitational Canoeing Championships 1998, 2000, 2001.



Mr. Gilbert Lee Gim Seng (Assistant Treasurer)

Gilbert Lee is currently a 4th year undergraduate of the National University of Singapore, pursuing his course in Chemical Engineering. His first stint at kayak racing was the National Inter-school Canoeing Championship 1996, representing Hwa Chong Junior College. Since then, he continued kayaking, representing NUS in SDBA Invitational Canoeing Championships 2000 and 2001. Gilbert was the coach of the girls of Hwa Chong Junior College Canoeing Team in 2000.



Joseph Ang Chee Huow (Logistics Officer)

Joseph Ang is a BBA (Hons) graduate the National University of Singapore. He is the Chief Operation Officer of an Internet online research company mieXchange.net. His passion for kayaking started back at his school days in Hwa Chong Junior College in 1994 and continued at NUS, taking part at local canoeing championships organised by the Singapore Schools Sports Council (SSSC), SDBA and SCF. During his university days, he coached the boys of Hwa Chong Junior College Canoeing Team to their championship titles at the SSSC National Inter-school Canoeing Championships. Currently he is assisting the Hwa Chong Canoeing Team with their trainings.



Mr. Shaun Ho Pan-wei (Assistant Logistics Officer)

Shaun Ho is an undergraduate at the National University of Singapore doing his 3rd year of his course at Mechanical Engineering degree. He has been kayaking since 1999 representing Raffles Junior College in his college days. Competitions taken part include local races such as the National Inter-school Canoeing Championship, SDBA Invitational Canoeing Championships, the National Canoeing Championships. He has also taken part in the Lake Kenyir Regatta 2001 in Malaysia.



Mr. Leonard Sam Chi Yong

Leonard Sam is currently a final year undergraduate pursuing his course in accountancy at the Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Leonard has started kayaking since 1997 and started his passion in kayaking while he was at Hwa Chong Junior College.



Mr. Lim Kay Teck Ivan

Ivan is a first year undergraduate at NUS pursuing his course in Engineering. His kayaking days started in 1998 while he was part of the college canoeing team in Hwa Chong Junior College Ivan has taken part in National Inter-school Canoeing Championship 1998, SDBA Invitational Canoeing Championships, the National Canoeing Championships and the Kenyir Regatta 2001. He is currently coaching the canoeing boys of the Hwa Chong Junior College.



Mr. Lin Hong Tai

Hong Tai is year 2 undergraduate at NUS pursuing his course in Engineering. His kayaking days started in 1998 when he was in the college canoeing team during his school days in Hwa Chong Junior College. The various races that Hong Tai has taken part include National Inter-school Canoeing Championship 1998, SDBA Invitational Canoeing Championships, the National Canoeing Championships. He is currently assisting with the coaching the canoeing boys of the Hwa Chong Junior College.



Mr. Lin Weichang

Weichang is currently a year 2 undergraduate at NUS pursuing his course in Computer Engineering. His kayaking passion was lighted in Hwa Chong Junior College and he has taken part in the National Inter-school Canoeing Championship 1998, representing the college. He also took part in the National Canoeing Championships 2001, 2002.



Ms. Tong Lee Ling

Lee Ling is is currently a final year undergraduate pursuing her course in accountancy at the Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University (NTU). She has been kayaking since 1998 while she was in Hwa Chong Junior College. She continued kayaking representing NTU while pursing her course. Her racing experiences include National Inter-school Canoeing Championship 1999, Lake Kenyir Regatta 2000, 2001, SDBA Invitational Canoeing Championships 1999, 2001, National Canoeing Championships 1999,2000,2001, 2002
